This book was exciting. a quick summary of the book would be that Claire goes and tries to find her son (Gabe from the giver) and makes a trade with Trademaster. She trades her youth for finding her son. Soon Gabe finds out that the old lady he sees watching him is actually his mom. She is about to die when gave goes out across the river and fights trademaster. Not with weapons, or fists he fights Trademaster by using words. he figures out that trade master is pure evil and feeds off others misery that has been caused by his trades. Gabe recalls all of trade master's failures and soon trade master starves and dies. His mom gets his youth and lives happily ever after.
