I had really high hopes for this book based on reviews and rewards. I am bitterly disappointed. The premise of this book was very interesting and with a right author probably would have been as great as other people thought it was. For me, it was more like a Harlequin Romance with a dash of Penthouse thrown in. The characters are selfish and unlikable and when they aren't that they are silly and naive. So much of what happened to them could have easily been foreseen by any thinking person.
A lot of the narrative involves descriptions of the female characters appearance and their sexual activities none of which contributes to the book. It struck me as simply mental masturbation on the part of the author. The author then slots in long-winded philosophical thoughts between these scenes. None of which convinced me of anything except his basic cupidity. Unless you enjoy reading about other people's sexual adventures be prepared to skip large chunks of this book. In fact, skip reading the whole book. It is not worth the effort.
