American Gods (American Gods, #1)

I have tremendous respect and affinity for Neil Gaiman - the writer and the man. Coraline, Neverwhere, Stardust, The Ocean at the End of the Lane. Loved them all. I absolutely loathed this audiobook (unabridged). The first couple or so chapters were intriguing and then it turned into pedantic drivel. It was torture to load and listen to all 18 discs. The best part was disc 19, which was an interview with Gaiman himself. That was lovely. The book the preceded it was painful.

"Audiobook version - so far, so good. 3 months later and I'm nearing the end of this painful dreck. Truly terrible, pointless babble."
