This book was strongly recommended to me by multiple people, but I have to say I'm not sure what the big deal is. It's an adequate mystery with some lurid crimes. The main character is overshadowed by Lisbeth, who is interesting enough that I will read the sequel, but with distinctly lowered expectations.
