Ema I hope you'll get to it eventually, Linda! It's easy to read and full of witty irony and humour.

Linda Oh! It's "easy"!? Because Kris and I have a mutual friend who is still holding the fact that he's read it against Kris! Good to know, thanks! Maybe after June, when the conference is over.

Ema I've heard that some people say it's a difficult book, but it didn't seem that way to me. Apart from an array of characters, which you can easily deal with by making a list with the names, it was an easy enough read. Unless you turn each and every sentence around to catch some hidden meaning, the reading flies by quickly. You only need to be able to enjoy the fantastical episodes and the parallel story which takes place around the time of Jesus' crucifixion. Even if you end up not liking the novel, it truly deserves your time.

Linda Oh, I love a challenge! Thanks! That's two recs, and one very adamant non-rec!
