really liked it
bookshelves: first-reads, won-in-contest

Where was this book when I was a kid?! I wasn't sure what to expect when I won this book as a first reads book, but I am glad that I was given the chance to read and review this book. If you have a kid who is adventurous and you want to get them into reading, this is definitely a book for them. The quirky characters and sarcastic undertone at the beginning draws you into the book. The the funny situations Fy and Zack get into, and then later on Max, keep the book rolling. As a reader, you don't want to put the book down because you want to see what kind of misadventure the kids (and grandpa (grandfather)) are going to get into next. However, if you do need to put the book down for some reason, the chapters are short enough that it is easy to find a stopping place without being in the middle of a scene.

Overall, I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it to anyone wanting a juvenile sci-fi book or to anyone with a kid that needs a little push into the love of reading.
