I liked this and enjoyed reading it so much that I stayed up until 2am one night just to finish. It's definitely somethign you get really into and then have a hard time putting it down even though there are parts that may annoy you (well, they sure annoyed me!).
I liked Doug Fox (the guy) and Zoey (the narrator) was interesting enough to keep me hopeful that they would hook up in the end. The sexual tension that Echols built up between the characters was well written. Doug Fox himself was addicting and I kept wanting to know more about him. The family situations that each of them faced were very real and Echols didn't sugarcoat when it came to Zoey's mom's attempted suicide or the way that Doug's dad treated him. I liked that about the book.
Still, the book is definitely flawed in some ways. Some of the situations are too contrived. The memory loss, for one thing. And then there was Zoey's naive belief that Brandon was her monogamous boyfriend. I couldn't really wrap my head around why Zoey felt this way except that she had to feel this way in order for the plot to work. However, I think this made it a lot more difficult for the reader to like Zoey. Doug Fox is also, of course, not a very realistic character. He's way too patient with Zoey and too loving and perhaps even a bit too controlling. Their relationship reminded me a bit of Bella and Edward and that's not good!
Overall I highly recommend this if you want a quick, fun summer read that has a lot of great sexual tension between the two main characters. It's not the most realistic book in the world but not every book has to be, right?

She is SO good at writing sexual tension, isn't she?
