Felt the same, after all that angst, uncertainty and deceit the ending was a bit dull

For me ir wasn't worth more than 2 stars. I don't get the hype. HOW is this book a NYT best seller?!
Yep it's not that good
I dont feel its that well written either
Felt like there was so much build up and was just let down..
Just finished it. Decent but not the "gripping thriller" all the hype suggested it would be. 3 stars.
Flat was a good description. I was disappointed in it begin billed as "gone girl" - not even close.
Felt ending was poor but enjoyed apart from that
good book I think it was a great book
Felt the exact same way. Just finished it last night. I loved the majority of the book and the last few pages but most of the ending felt a bit cheesy to me. I would still recommend it though and also gave it four starts because as a whole, it was good.

I felt the same way...I got to the end and thought "Is that it?!". I'm glad I read the book but it wasn't as great as everyone said it was.
I really didn't get Anna's thought process at the ending! There's a point in one of her chapter's where it seems that she's contemplating STAYING even after all has been revealed. What? I didn't think that fit with her character at all. 
I felt the same way. The ending was very sloppy.
I also felt the ending detracted as it fell into very cliched screenwriting territory.
I enjoyed reading the book but yes, I agree, the ending was very unrealistic and way too overdone.
I felt like so many things made no sense. Based on her comments like "I win" and "if only you hadn't gone breaking my heart you could still be here" I think Anna killed Elise. The author needed to clear that up. It was not a cliff hanger, just flat out annoying. I did over all enjoy the book though. 4 stars.
Omg. I thought I was writing on dangerous girls. Sorry. I felt like the girl on the train was a great book but the whole thing that tom was the one who did it really doesn't add up to me

I completely agree. I was obsessed and hooked all the way until the end. It's almost like a completely different author took over and it wasn't the same book.

Can someone help me understand - I thought when scott was talking to Rachel he said that the police found Megan's phone- so how did tom have it too? Also what was the relevance of the 2 sets of clothes on the track? Good read though

I agree completely. It held my interest throughout the book. Great characters, etc. (although I became frustrated with Rachel) But, the end was like a cheap Lifetime channel movie. Disappointed, but still a pretty good read.
I don't really understand why Anna seems to threaten Rachel in the end, at the police station. Besides, there is no point in lying about the corkscrew.
i agree the ending was a bit flat however i also feel like the story was well thought out and paula hawkins is a great writer!?! i thought it was a good book and good movie

I am reading this book right now.
The starting was slow ..it hooked me up in the middle and the ending was dull..i knew the killer from the middle onwards.i think gonegirl is better than this
