The Last Child (Johnny Merrimon, #1)

Thirteen year old Johnny's twin sister went missing a year ago, but he hasn't given up on finding her. His family has fallen apart due to stress and grief. The detective assigned to the case has never given up either, and is obsessed with the case, letting his family fall apart as well. When another girl goes missing, things heat up and you will be surprised at the conclusion. Even though this does not have the traditional happy ending, there is a very satisfying ending to this book.
This book kept me on the edge of my seat through the entire story. Gripping, heartbreaking, and unpredictable, there was a new twist around every corner. I really wasn't sure how it was going to end until it actually ended!
