What Mrs. McGillicuddy Saw!

I normally don't read "bestsellers" but prefer instead to wait until I get a recommendation. So, in honor of "The Girl on the Train" which is sitting atop the NYTimes bestseller list, I thought I'd read my go-to favorite author of all time: Agatha Christie. She has done several train mysteries beautifully, including her magnificent "Murder on the Orient Express." In "What Mrs. McGillicudy Saw," we have an older girl who sees a murder. And in 'Christiie-Cozy' tradition, there is little to no blood, lots of suspects, red herrings all over the place, and a solution that is at once surprising and makes perfect sense upon reflection. (I think I read McGillicudy back in the 60s when I was teaching myself to read, and how many books do we read every 50 years or so?) I'm also reading right now Fleming's "From Russia With Love" which has thrills-on-a-train plus good lovin' and villians everywhere! And, like usual, my second worn copy of Joyce's "Ulsysses" is bookmarked in the car, and the Old/New Testament NIV is beside the bed. Then there is a travel book (right now David Lebovitz's The Sweet Life in Paris) and next is my highly anticipated "Decoded" by Mai Jai of China! I feel positively rich!
