Paper Towns by John Green is a book that I always has been excited about. I have heard so many good reviews about it. Plus, John Green is one of my very favourite writer.

So, as I started reading, I really enjoyed the craziness in Margo. That revenge seeking and sneaking out in the middle of the night and also bringing Quentin out of his "comfort zone". It was all humorous, contains so much excitement and I can definitely imagine how wild Margo is and how in control Quentin is. Then, poof! Margo went missing like she did previously but only a little bit longer this time and presumably not planning to get back home. Quentin had this assumption that Margo might commit suicide and felt terribly scared to just imagine that the Margo he knew was dead.

He and his friends, radar and Ben later figure out that Margo sort of left clues especially for Quentin to solve and track her down. This might be the interesting part for some people but it didn't attract my attention but it bored me instead. What happened was Quentin was so absorbed into the clues and try to solve the mystery and had some help from Radar and Ben. In the meanwhile, Ben and Radar got themselves each a date to prom, which made them quite occupied with the preparation and stuffs. Ben was extra excited as he got to ask Lacey, one of the popular girl a.k.a. Margo's best friend in school to prom. This was also the part where things start to change in school, which was Lacey dated Ben, the bully, Jase apologised towards Quentin and they finally got to blend with the popular and even see the different side of the popular kids. I didn't actually enjoy the middle part of this book because perhaps I'm not into the mystery and all. Plus, the clues were kind of the same all the while.

The last 100 pages was where the humour got back into the story. The four of them, namely Quentin, Radar, Ben and Lacey went for a trip to New York hoping they would find Margo there. I like this section of the story, especially the "pee" thing from Ben and how they would always rush to save time. But I also found that their friendship was getting stronger by then.

The ending gave me a mixed feeling. I didn't know what to feel about it. However, there was one thing I sure, sometimes we just can't stay with the person we love. We would really love them to come with us but they simply couldn't do so and so do us. Overall, I rate this book with 3 and 1/2 stars out of 5.
