it was ok

I have a love-hate relationship with this book. The author could have done so much more with this book if she had incorporated less of her alma mater from Smith College and instead incorporated women with diverse careers and educational backgrounds. A majority of those profiled were exemplary women but most were in the Arts or started in STEM fields and moved to the Arts. Argh!!! Why not tell the stories of financiers and scientists from around the globe? These fields are grossly under represented by women today and as a woman I feel like we could have encouraged so many more millennials if the author had profiled a few more Nobel, Lasker & Fields Medal recipients not to mention profiled less Americans. I encourage the author to do a 2nd edition and my next review will score 5-stars.
