I loved this book. Some of Winterson's phrases stay with me still. 'My life is a hesitation in time. An opening in a cave. A gap for a word.' It was a great story about a little girl who grew up in a bizarre house with her mother and then was adopted by a man in a lighthouse. The history and research and connections in this book are the things you find when you start researching; digging. I loved the terminology. The thinking, the ideas, the recollections. I will read it again.
