it was amazing
bookshelves: 2011, sci-fi-fantasy

This is a lovely book. I will read it to my grand daughter as soon as her attention span will take in a whole book. I give it 5 stars. He takes what is usually fearful to children, the dark, grave yards, monsters, witches and makes them safe and comfortable. The real monsters are in the human realm. And even those aren't quite human. Young Nobody Owens escapes his home to a nearby graveyard when his parents are murdered. (even this is just stated, no gore, no indulgence in violence, Just the facts, ma'am. ) His murdered parents, in their departed form, appear immediately, at the grave yard and entrust his care to a ghostly couple who reside there. The story is engaging and entertaining on many levels. I enjoyed it as I have the Harry Potter books.
