it was ok

This lacked realism and originality. Even if it was supposedly written based on the writers personal experience, its a very glossed over account that has one message; Drugs are bad. And I do not doubt that a severe addiction to narcotics is undesirable. Im sure that it is. Its a sad, sad tale of woe. One that has been told far too many times. If the point was to reach young people and discourage them, then it would have been better, I think, to tell the truth. No, drugs will not turn you into you psychotic alter ego. No, they won't have you turning tricks in some dismal hotel. At least not all by themselves. But they will take away many opportunities, make you complacent, and less caring. Many people can function very well with such addictions, many can not. Its a distinct disadvantage in a world where you need all your advantages.
Its obvious enough to me that Bree, and all her monstrosity was going to have to be dealt with sooner or later. The crank likely made it sooner. Maybe the fact that the blame for all the bad decisions was laid so squarely at the feet of the "monster" is an issue in itself. This could have been interesting, but as the only thing that this author was willing to discuss was her dependance, it became hollow and dull. There is potential here. Maybe next time.
