Never Let Me Go

Let it go, now, before you buy it. Unless you are in middle school.?. I read this book quickly, hoping it would get better as I read it, I didn't like the first sentence right off the bat but tried to hold out some hope.
At the last sentence I was just curious why anyone would want to read this when they could read Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? or just watch Blade Runner. The stories aren't the same but they deal with some similar ground mainly androids/clones. It was difficult to relate to any of the characters, possibly because they were clones and had a certain amount of confusion created in them. For instance the main character constantly repeats the seam things and before I realized they were clones I was thinking the children in the school were possibly mentally retarded. I wasn't sure what was going on with them as it isn't revealed right away. In any case save your time and brain cells and read Philip K.Dick instead.
