Ok first of all, mega TRIGGER WARNING: rape, abuse, pedophilia.

I hate to use the word enjoyable to describe this book, because it seems weird given the subject matter but honestly, I read it in one sitting and could not put the damn thing down. Political intrigue and court drama are two of my favorites, so this easily had me hooked.

Now I'll delve into some personal opinions here. I've heard a lot of complaints about how this book is disgusting and shouldn't be a thing because of the sex slavery and rape, etc. While I understand that stance, I'm not of the persuasion that believes books containing controversial and morally reprehensible issues should not exist. I've seen books about disgusting, murderous stalkers be praised so highly (which I myself also enjoyed) so I have a hard time understanding the outrage here. I by no means believe the author of this book thinks sex slavery and pedophilia are not serious topics.

On that note, proceed at your own risk.

Nina Although I thought there was an overdose of violence (more than needed to make a point and underpin the world-building), I absolutely agree with this. The author does in no way whitewash these topics. Well said!
