Camus redacted the novel into a 200 page play. In the first line of his Forward he writes: The Possessed is one of the four or five works that I rank above all others.

I agree. It's not the best cover ... I remember now, we like the one with the pigs! - )

I'm not going to argue with a fellow enthusiast about how many great novels Dostoyevsky wrote. Five it is! - )

For some reason I found this one the most difficult of the big four. But certainly worth the trouble when I finished.



It is a blockbuster book, but it takes some serious effort. A lot of damaged characters.

I had been getting “likes� for my review but I had never written one. I remembered this old Camus quote so now there is something there.
imho The most difficult of Dostoyevsky's big four. A complex and fascinating read. Hope your well!
