I had put this one off for more years than I can count -- well, I guess since 1986 when it first came out! The book is soooo long, and I just wasn't sure if I'd like it that much, even though I had read 11 Stephen King books by the end of 1986 -- maybe the clown put me off a little....I'm not sure. But even so I still had it on the back burner thinking I'd catch up with it sometime. And when I found the paperback at a yard sale for 50 cents, I didn't have any reason to wait any longer.
So on January 1st, 2019 I started reading 10 pages/day until I finished -- today, April 19, 2019 -- and I enjoyed those 10 pages every day!! It was a little time in each day that I looked forward to and it was almost always exciting, captivating, and/or entertaining. Stephen King just has a way with words (oh, does he know about words!!), and he just makes you want to keep reading -- even if it's more than a thousand pages :o
In a short summary, Derry, Maine is infested with an evil that preys on children. And a group of seven kids, "The Losers' Club," band together to fight against "IT." They think they have killed, or at least harmed, it in 1958 when they are 11 years old. However, they make a pact that if the killing of children ever begins again, they will all come back to fight. So 27 years later, when they each get the call, they come running to work together again to see what they can do against "IT." And it's pretty exciting ;)

"I was so daunted by the length of this book that I decided to take it slowly. On January 1st I started reading 10 pages/day -- and this is working for me! It keeps my interest (and it's very interesting!) and makes me want to keep reading, but doesn't feel overwhelming. I've now read 275/1090 pages. Not too shabby! ;)"
