Wow, how did I wait so long to read this...I have really been missing out...

There are tons and tons of great reviews that speak about all that makes this such a fabulous read. These reviews speak of the fabulous characterizations, plot twists, world building, and an amazing system of magic. They talk about the quality of the writing, the prose, and the art of this story.  It truly is a gem and really stands out in a genre that is filled with a plethora of spectacular pieces of fantastical literature.

This book left me exhausted and breathless. I felt totally drained as I devoured the final chapters of this masterpiece. This is not a short novel, but it is one that is incredibly difficult to put down. It demands your attention, it engages your emotions, and it makes you want to believe. 

The ending was a surprise to me, and wow, I could not have been happier. The depth to the way the plot unfolded was marvelous. Even though this is the first book in a trilogy, one could say that this alone is a story for the ages.

 I loved the characters, the magic, the action, and the relationships. It is a rare thing when I truly feel that everything was penned perfectly. I always talk about the importance of a writer creating something memorable. I will remember these characters, their home, and their hopes and dreams. Vin and Kel are heroes to be remembered. So many amazing action scenes that had you on the edge of your seat.

Not to be corny or cliche, but I really want to emphasize that this is a fantasy that will take you away. You will find yourself wanting to be there, to see these places, and to engage with your new found friends. Brandon Sanderson, with this novel has proven to me again that even as a forty year old man, nothing moves me like that of a well penned fantasy. Escapism at it's best. I cannot recommend this novel highly enough!!!
