really liked it

This book was extremely slow and dull to start and I truly felt I was never going to finish it.
The number of characters and background information provided at times felt incredibly excessive but because of the positive reviews I continued on hoping it would get better. There are definitely parts of the story that could have been left out—decreasing the pages from over 600 to maybe a little over 400. It does start to get better in the last quarter of the book and the twists and turns in the end made it all worthwhile.

At times I felt truly uncomfortable reading certain parts of the book because of the very severe concepts the book dealt with, thus proving how remarkable of a writer Stieg Larsson is. I know the third installment of this series is written by a different author and I am hoping it is just as good. I am also hoping that Blomkvist and Salander’s relationship heals and that perhaps now Salander has some closure to the horrific events that have been inflicted upon her.
