it was amazing

I agree with some reviewers when they mention the style of Never Let Me Go as distracting, or annoying, at times. It seems to be as if Kathy is having a conversation with us, and although I don't converse in life as she does, it makes sense for the story and her character.

That said in regard to the style, be warned. The story is not at all simple or light, despite the easygoing narrative conversation of the protagonist. Reading the reviews it seems people are confused about the outcome of the novel. I think those readers need to think a little more about the situation. This novel is very ethical, and very thoughtful. It contains very difficult, harsh real-life experiences and ideas. It's disturbing and tragic, but very, very real and very true. I do think this could (is) happen(ing).

Look beyond the story and really think about what Ishiguro is trying to tell us. I hope you will be so touched by these characters that you will miss them when the last page comes and goes, as I am.
