The Death of Ivan Ilych

This was a sad but engrossing read. It's amazing how much Tolstoy packed into this novella. The reader basically sees Ivan Ilych's whole life flashing before them. He provides great insight into what it's like to face death for the person facing it, as well as those around them. It's so honest. I wouldn't recommend this to someone in the midst of fresh grief, but for those who have had enough time for the wound to scar, it should be profound.
