I really liked this book. I was actually shocked to see how many people didn't like this book! The language was very simple, but Larsson was indepth as well. Much like Lisbeth was a researcher, I felt he described certain people or businesses, like Milton Security, as a researcher would. I enjoyed getting all the background information, however, Larsson also made sure to leave out information when necessary.
I liked that there were basically two plots, one causing the other in a way. Some have said that the plots were too unrealistic, but I disagree... I mean isn't the point of a book to escape your own reality for a little bit? But, Maybe that's just me. For the optimist who only sees good in the world, this book is probably not a good read for you... but i find the events in this book to be sad, yet undeniable realities that exist in our world today. Not to mention, anyone who has read a little history on the author, would understand why he focuses on the abuse of women.
Furthermore, when I first started reading the book, I did not know how to take Lisbeth. I have not encountered a character quite like her, yet once more became revealed about her, she began to make total sense and I grew to like her.
I like crime novels, but I had stopped reading them for awhile as I saw certain patterns emerge... today, I still refuse to read another James Patterson, because his style is too played out and too easy. This book was different. It kept my interest from the very beginning. I finished the entire book in three days. I cant wait to get my hands on the next one.
