it was amazing
bookshelves: adult, contemporary, emotional-rollercoaster, new-adult, stand-alone

This is the first book I've read in a long while that not only really made me feel complicated emotions, but also really made me think conflicting thoughts. And that's the point of this story. I know this sounds vague, but I'm afraid I can't really explain further without spoiling anything.

Basically, bravo Colleen Hoover. You've executed your purpose perfectly. I feel enlightened. I feel fulfilled and so distraught all at once. I feel like so much makes sense.

I haven't really felt the need to dissect a story in such a long time, and yet I spent hours this morning discussing this book with a best friend (who hadn't read it, but often has in depth social, psychological, philosophical, political, and spiritual discussions with me). Despite her not having read it, we are both so impressed with what we've learned and how our outlook on life has been enhanced by this book. It put in to words, in a succinct and concise manner, a conclusion that she and I have been circling around in our various discussions...It's not so easy as to label someone as being a "bad" person. Sometimes, it's about good people who sometimes do bad things.
