I liked that this book stands alone from the Da Vinci Code even though they are the same characters. You don't have to have read that book to understand this one. Sometimes it felt like a text book with all that you had to read just to understand the story however I like learning new things so it wasn't bad. The story was fast paced and kept me really intrigued and always wanting to know what was going to happen next. The book is like an onion with many layers. Just when you understand one sign or symbol it leads to another. It was just a fun and educational read.
