In one word, I would describe The Iron Knight as PERFECT. It had everything I loved in a story: action, drama, comedy, romance, and of course all the paranormal aspects.
But truly, words cannot describe how amazing this book was. Each page kept me on the edge of my seat. Even in school, while the teacher discusses our lesson, I sit there, daydreaming and wondering about the events in this novel.
Ashallayn'darkmyr Tallyn has got to be one of my favorite male characters of all time. And Puck, of course. Each of them have their great traits and great looks, and I love them both! Puck, as usual, was funny, lightening the mood when everyone wouldn't speak, trying to be brave and annoying. Ash's true self was definitely shown in the book.
(Do not continue if you haven't read the book, spoilers)
The Trials were definitely something different. Each one captivated me and kept me reading.
(1) The first test was on the top of a mountain, where Ash battled against hundreds, maybe thousands, of different creatures.
-This was definitely a tough challenge. I kept praying that none of them would kill Ash.
(2) The second Trial was seeing all of his past faults, his sins.
-It was heartbreaking to read about Ash destroying the life of others. Especially Brynna's story. Definitely tear-worthy.
(3) And finally, seeing what it truly means to be a mortal.
-The beginning was so happy that I kept smiling like an idiot, but then I ended up shedding a tear or two.
This was the BEST book from the series, so if you're having doubts and you think that it should have ended in The Iron Queen, then I am here to say, take those regrets away and read this book!
As for those who haven't started the series, I dare you to! You'll be in for a really good adventure!
P.s. someday, the Survival Guide to the Nevernever will come in handy, I'm sure:D
