** spoiler alert ** This was a quick read book, at times funny, at times sad. Beast is the nickname for 15 year old Dylan who is taller, bigger hairier than all the other boys in school. He ends up falling off the school roof and breaks his leg and is sent to group therapy for self harmers. There, he meets Jamie, a funny, smart, beautiful girl. Unfortunately, they have a misunderstanding and Dylan doesn't hear her tell the group that she is transgender. I had a hard time with both parents in the book and Dylan's "best" friend JP. I would recommend this for high school libraries
