Great period setting and interesting characters, as usual with a Shardlake book, but it was a bit long, and I agree with the reader who said they were annoyed with the Jack and Tamasin storyline! I felt the serial killer theme was a bit forced, as though it had to be 'modern', though the religious upheavals didn't bother me as that was what life was like then - and fanaticism does have modern parallels, sadly.
