I love the *idea* of this book, but in the end I'm sort of disappointed. I figured out where the story was going really early on and I'm still not sure if I was supposed to or not? The way it's written doesn't make it clear. It was also less violent and disturbing than I thought it would be, occasionally it was even a bit... sentimental? The writing was pretty good though I could have used a better sense of place and a bit less of the aforementioned sentimentality. It was a pretty good book but I feel like the fantastic premise could have been used in a better way.

"I've been having fun reading this so far but it's not quite what I imagined? There's very little of the creepy violent stuff for the time being and it's really about the characters and the relationships between them. It's been good so far, just different than I thought!"
