4.5 Stars- listened to the audio book
What a book! It has just enough foreshadowing that the twists are completely plausible, but so little foreshadowing that you have to be a world famous detective to guess any of the plot twists.
What I loved
1. The Australian setting
2. The 3 dimensional characters- everyone had their secrets which really fit the small town vibe and made them such intriguing characters to read about.
3. The main character- Aaron Falk was a closed book who we slowly learn more about as the story unfolded.
4. I loved how compelling the story was. I had to keep on listening to see how everything played out.
5. The narration by Steve Shanahan was excellent. The subtle changes in his voice for each character were great for keeping me engaged with the story.
I highly recommend this Australian crime fiction novel. It's suspenseful, mysterious and the second half of the book will have you guessing like there's no tomorrow.
