This is one of those books that I just devoured (it's now on my Favorites shelf along with Wither). It was strange, fascinating, disturbing, confusing at times (in all the right places), haunting, and beautiful. Fever was well written and very descriptive/poetic. I was able to imagine everything (sights, sounds, smells) and everyone very clearly in my mind, which at one point had me cringing in my seat (needle...eye anyone?) DeStefano's writing style really shines through the last 1/4 of the book.
I am intrigued with Rowan right now, and I can't wait to learn more about him in the final book.
My only complaint is that it was too short, and I am left wanting to read more...and the final book doesn't come out until 2013. Sigh.
