it was ok
bookshelves: started-but-didnt-finish, books-i-disliked

I really wanted to like this book. First of all, the cover is beautiful. The idea of this book was grand. I liked the idea of a magical, mystical book wrapped up with witches, vampires, and daemons. I can even enjoy a good love story if done well.

She writes well. Sometimes poetic. Here's the issue...nothing happens. There's time in the library (which is cool), she exercises, gets stalked by this sexy vampire (come up with something new please) and repeat. NOTHING HAPPENS. This could have been interesting. I'm not sure why it's so popular. People say to read the second one...but this one is 600 pages. In a series things still happen. I shouldn't have to get to the next book for a plot.

So disappointed. I only got to pg 180 or something. I just couldn't go on. 2 stars for good writing and a good idea. Very poor story telling.
