I'm ashamed to say I knew little on the Israel / Palestine conflict at the time of reading this and this book is a good introduction to the topic especially if you prefer to learn about this topic in a fictional narrative.

This is the story of Amal who was born into a refugee camp in Jenin. It's horrifying to know this story is not fiction for many people out there today.

This book is not enjoyable but definitely should be read.
