it was amazing
bookshelves: russia
Read 2 times

This was my second time reading this fantastic (in the true sense) book. Previously I had read the Misha Glenny translation, but this time I read the Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky version which is more thorough and true to the original even though this does mean that some of the constructions are a bit awkward. However it reads very well and in any version this is one of the great and uniquely unorthodox books of 20th century literature.,

Kevin Ansbro I agree, Declan. For me, one of the most rewarding reading experiences.
I can understand why you read it twice.
