Well that was scarily eye opening. All the stuff about, going back to a traditional time and way of life, blaming all society's wrongs on freedom and education of women. The men did not get off lightly either, their life wasn't free or good either. The suggestion seems to me that the idea of returning to traditional values is invalid.
What I found most frightening was the way the women treated each other. I confess to not being a great believer in the "sisterhood" and this story confirms my fears, give anyone some power and they will fight like a rat up a drainpipe to keep and increase it.
A brilliant, if slightly depressing read written so long ago. Nothing much has changed. Sends a shiver down my spine.
