I stayed awake to read this book even though I was a little reluctant to read it in the first place. There were a lot of twists and turns which IMO were easy to see coming except for the sibling thing that I was surprised about. This book had me thinking a lot when I was done reading and it seemed like the more I thought about it the more I actually disliked it. One thing I realized is that not one person in the story was likeable except maybe Dave and his first wife, Sandra. Yes I felt sorry for Melissa and what happened to her but IMO she was just as insane as Edward was and Jarrod was a spineless douche. I mean how much of a psychopath are you that you wait for 27 years to get revenge ? I also don't believe for one second no matter how great the surgeon is that he can make a 47 year old woman look in her early 20's. The other thing that really bugged me the more I thought about it was Edward. I feel like if he was really that insane there's no way he could've hid that from Inez for over 25 years or his co-workers for that matter. I think all that shit with his stepmother and his real mother was all added so the reader would hate him and be able to justify what was done to him. I loved the Black Lotus Series by E.K. Blair but I thought Elizabeth/Nina was completely over reacting about her revenge. To me Julz/Sammi in the Gypsy Brothers Series by Lili St. Germain was completely justified in her revenge and I personally loved every minute of it. Melissa/Sam/Selma was a pathetic lunatic that should have been a lot more pissed at Jarrod than she was at Edward, after all he was the one that had something or someone to loose. I almost forgot ; I think if Melissa wasn't such a spoiled, selfish cunt she would have seen all the signs long before it was revealed to her.
