Is this book worthy of your time? The short answer? No. The long answer? Hell to the no. (view spoiler)[ The biggest reason being the reason why she and Alex broke up. It was something out of a god damn romantic comedy and could have been solved in 2 fricking seconds. Here's how it would go. Alex: I can't go to prom with you because my sister's quinceanera is that night. Linden: Oh my gosh that makes so much sense. Alex: Would you go to that instead? Linden: Yes! Baseball audience breaks into applause.

But no, Alex just asks to talk in private, seems unnecessary, and Linden runs off crying. THEN when he finally tells her about the quinceanera date being the same as prom she tries to get him to skip it...keep in mind that the thing that made her go gah gah over him was meeting his family and seeing how important family was (because her family doesn't act like a family anymore). But nooooooooo, tell him to skip his sister's INCREDIBLY important birthday celebration that he has a role for. (hide spoiler)]

Okay, so aside from that stupidity, there's also the fact that the characters are so flat and I want to smack every one of them. There were also some continuity issues, but whatever that pales in comparison to the annoyance of everything else. The book, kind of, has a nice message, I think it just does a horrible job of getting to that point. Anyways, avoid this book if you can, there are so many more better things to do with your time.
