Overall, I really enjoyed this novel and had parts where it was just so hard to put the book down! I really liked that fact that it was written from the point of view of a five year old because it’s not very common. It was very interesting to me how Ma and Jack managed to escape the room and be integrated with society. Donoghue did a good job writing this book so that the reader would have to think more about things that may never cross your mind. For example, how much the world changed in the time she spent held captive and how different her family was and how much they changed without her there. I would recommend this book to a friend!
