Magnificent. One of the best science fiction works ever. Heavy on ideas , beautiful in evoking grand thoughts about ontological meaning of existence , love , mortality.

PS : The new translation in English from the original Polish by Brian Johnston is a vast improvement over the extremely mediocre one that was translated from French.Unfortunately the Johnston translation is only available as an electronic format due to obscure copyright reasons. Nevertheless it is the only translation that should be read.
