It's a great short read & was better than the movie.
The Netflix movie was released on Sept. 29, 2017 .

Two major characters are in a Holt, Colorado. A small town, widower & widow, 70+ years old!
Louis Waters with a dead wife - Diane.
Addie Moore with a dead husband - Carl.
Both long-time neighbors, are now in "empty" & lonely houses after their spouses have die. Their friendship & love emotions grow.

Addie's son Gene, lives across town. After his divoice, her grandson, Jamie(6) lives with her. And begins to have great fun with Louis, when he starts to see more of Addie.
Gene doesn't accept people their "age" to be together. He takes Addie & Jamie to live with him. One day she falls, breaks her hip & goes to the hospital. Louis cannot confront Gene successfully. But at the end, returning home they miss each other too much, join again & the love ending written sounds nice.
