"So far, the abandoned baby has grown up in several different places and his mother killed. Most of the caretakers (the ones with a sense of compassion) notice that Grenouille doesn't have a smell to him. He also killed a pre-pubescent girl for her smell. I find it interesting how Suskind goes through almost ten chapters without any speaking lines."

"Baldini is afraid of his last customer dying. He steals some perfume from Pelissier. I find that Baldini's view of new perfumists are the same as new musicians today; in the sense that to be a good musician back then, you actually had to be skilled in one or multiple instruments, not just push buttons and drag certain sounds together in a program."

"Grenouille is accepted by Baldini after he proves his (noses) worth to him by perfectly replicating Pelissier's perfume and improving upon it. Grenouille comes down with smallpox, and almost dies, again. He leaves Baldini to learn new ways of scent extraction, and after he leaves, Baldini dies. After about two chapters of narrator monologue, he holes himself on a cave on a mountain."

"It has been seven years since he came to the mountain. He leaves the mountain and is taken in by the Marquis, who pronounces him a successful example in his fluidum vitale theory. After Grenouille is cared for and tested, he is sent to the best perfumer in Pierrefort, where he creates a normal, human scent. With his perfume applied he leaves Pierrefort. The Marquis climbs to the top of the mountain and dies(char lim)"

"Grenouille goes to Grasse, finds another adole*scent* (haha) and finds that she might smell better in a few years. He works for another perfumer, Druot. Here, he kills more girls and extracts their smells. The girls' cadavers are found and suspicions have risen. This is getting juicy"
