The Break

It’s called The Break, but not one catches a break here. This is gritty realism where life is bleak, always, until the end, because for a lot of people the only certainty in life is that things »å´Ç²Ô’t actually get better. Time doesn’t heal wounds, it infects them. How well do you think your life would turn out if you were conceived during the gang rape of a teenaged addict who left you to bounce around from one abusive situation to another, for example? You think you’d stand much of a chance of not being fucked up?
It’s unrelenting and it’s horrific and it was hard to put down. Even the “bad guys aren’t all bad when you know how they got here.
“Girls »å´Ç²Ô’t get attacked in good neighbourhoods.â€
“Girls get attacked everywhere.

Might it be just a tad over the top? Material seems more conducive to a short story.
