** spoiler alert ** I’ve read this book a few times, and I do enjoy it. I’ve struggled with serious depression and anxiety for five years, and to read a book that can put thoughts into words is awesome. This book sucked me in. I started reading it, and I couldn’t put it down!! I recommend it to all my friends!! My friend and I often find ourselves discussing this book and raving about it!!

I must say though, the one thing I did not like was when Roman said Aysel’s depression was beautiful. That made me a frustrated, but I felt better when Aysel was made uncomfortable by it too. That clarified it was just part of the story and not someone flat out romanticizing it.

What else I did not like was that it gave readers the notion that love can save your life. Aysel falls in love with Roman and suddenly she’s not suicidal? I get that throughout the whole book, Aysel is looking for something to hold on to, but I think it should have been something other than Roman. This book gives off the false pretense that falling in love with somebody will make you not want to die.
