** spoiler alert **
This book was a disappointment, it could have really been an extension of the last one. There was no plot and felt more like a character check up. What was it about?? Solstice and the inner circles current state of mind. It felt like “A week in the life of Rhysand
It wasn’t bad by any means. Just pointless.
We got the Wall sex scene but there was no build up or tension or desperation like the previous novels.
There was healthy banter amongst the inner circle which was amusing & familiar..my favourite ‘snort worthy moment - Rhys getting kicked out of the steam room because of his erection.
Feyre continued to have curling hands and toes and it was nice to see the Suriel mentioned along with the Weaver & Bryaxis.
Suspense?? Normally full of suspense this had little to none. There’s a dark shadow watching Mor... stay tuned. Clearly we will be seeing an Illyrian clan uprising in the next book.
Obviously Rhys & Feyre will be pregnant and by the next book preview Nesta has gone further off the rails.
Especially because of the short length of this novel I became annoyed by several overused lines - ‘I felt more than saw and ‘the former and the latter but the worst is Rhys calling Feyre ‘mate to her face. She isn’t an Aussie! Sure refer to each other as ‘mates but what happened to Feyre darling? Swoon.
An easy read and very visually descriptive scenes of what could be details for the next colouring book.
Maybe I expected more; maybe the last two books were just an impossible act to follow.
