I borrowed the DVD out, but at the last minute, I couldn't watch it. I am not the type of person who won't see a film if I loved the book...but I thought I would try the book first. Admittedly I had the picture of Zac Efron in my head everytime I read Jacobs name. . but it didn't tarnish the book character for me........... they really did cast the perfect person for this role!
I thoroughly enjoyed this book, and was hooked from the first page. Jacob is a fab character, and I felt like I was part of that circus train. I love books that make you feel like you are there, stepping back in time. I might have dreamed about running off and joining the circus when I was a child. . .but read this and you might understand why I have had a change of heart..I highly recommend this book, but with a warning. It contains some animal cruelty scenes that might upset some readers. It is necessary for the story, and historically correct.
