On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft

Who'd have thought scary Stephen King could be so funny? Crude and rude, but funny. This is Stephen King's advice to aspiring writers, and I found it both useful and entertaining. It's divided into three sections: his autobiography as a writer (beginning with his childhood love of comics); a middle section on the craft of writing, including a brush-up on grammar; and his thoughts after his car accident. His writing advice really has affected me; I edit out "the fact that" every time I see it. And though I've only read The Shining, because of his book, I'm very curious about Misery. So whether you're a fan of his or an aspiring writer, this down-to-earth book has something to teach you.
