I adored this book. It gave me all the feels. The author is around 10 years older than me so not all of the books she talks about were popular in my childhood, but many were. Her love of books shines brightly throughout and I saw a lot of myself in the experiences she recalls (such as being seen as different at school because she always had her head in a book, and checking out stacks of books at a time week after week from the library!). It’s made me want to go and re-read some of my childhood favourites again and had given me a good starting point of books to consider reading with any children I may have in the future. I love that she’s included a list at the end of the books she’s mentioned throughout, too.
