it was amazing

This is the story about a town, the people who live in it, and about ice hockey. But it’s about so much more than that too.
I’m slightly annoyed you can only give a book five stars. Because this deserves so much more. I know this is the best book I ever read, and I’m convinced that only the author himself can write something that can top it.
Following on from Beartown, the story is so richly detailed. The town comes alive but also the characters do too. Each one has a story. I was invested in all of them. Some were sad, some were heartwarming, but Backman has a way of making them come alive so that you feel like you live and breathe with them, that you’re right there beside them. Your invested in the town and its inhabitants, from Maya and Benji, to Amat, Kira, and even Alicia (a heartwarming subplot within the story).
I really hope there’s a third story in there. I felt like there was essentially a set up for it, but one can only hope.
There is more I could say but I don’t want to give things away in the story for those who haven’t read it yet. Get Beartown, read it. Then get Us Against You, and read that.
