“Rohan had come

The first half of this book is epic and full of grandeur and forever legendary battles. The second half of this book begins with the climax rather quickly before our heroes journey all the way home and find out how their lives are changed evermore. The ending is honestly so very beautiful and I couldn’t help but tear up slightly up some parts, not cry, I do that very rarely when it comes to books, but the tears were certainly there here and again as we reached ever closer to the end.

We also saw a but of Bilbo Baggins towards the end there and just having them all together again, gah, it’s just a little way closer to perfection.

It may seem hard to describe as too why I love this so much, when there are many people complaining at how it’s boring or slow, or far too overly descriptive or that the character might be bland or emotionless, and from a certain standpoint, those are actually all valid, so I’m not going to stay here and argue that out, but rather tell you all why I love this series to the best of my ability and however much my writing abilities permit to do so.

The story is beautiful, flat out beautiful. It’s not the most complex, but it doesn’t need to be, this is a tale of standard good versus evil, and how somebody seemingly insignificant to the wider world can bring about so much change for the better. Also everything the world is simply so magical, which is only exemplified by the brilliant writing filled with all of the lore, history and descriptions of the world. Not to mention the huge cast of wonderfully written characters, which, whether you hate or love, have to at least appreciate them for who they are and their story.

So yeah, there you go.

It’s also quite astounding at how far the characters have all come since the start of their journey, considering that it isn’t actually that long. I mean, yes, for a normal book series, it’s lengthy, but for a fantasy novel on such a scale, everything does happen quite quickly, despite the lengthy descriptions that people love to complain about.

If you haven’t had the chance to read it but enjoy fantasy in the slightest, then this is a must read. 9.5/10
